NHPC Sports Scholarship 2025: NHPC has announced sports scholarships for young and upcoming athletes to promote sporting talent and create a pool of skilled sportspersons.

Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as of 26.03.2025)
- General sports category: 14-19 years (Born between 26.03.2006 to 26.03.2011).
- Para sports category: 14-24 years (Born between 26.03.2001 to 26.03.2011).
Performance Criteria

| Para Sports | Must have a license from Paralympic Committee of India (PCI) and national/ international ranking 1-5 or finalist. | Must have a PCI license and ranking 6-15 or semi-finalist. |
Scholarship Duration & Performance Evaluation
- Duration: 3 years.
- Review: Performance will be assessed annually. Scholarships will be continued based on the player’s achievements in State/ National/ All India Ranking tournaments.
- Termination: If the performance is not satisfactory in the first year, NHPC reserves the right to cancel the scholarship.

Additional Benefits
Kit Assistance
- ₹5,000 per year for purchasing sports kits (only upon submission of original bills).
Travel & Accommodation for Outstation Tournaments
- ₹48,000 per year for travel, accommodation, and DA for up to 6 All India Ranking Tournaments (Only for individual sports)
- No travel assistance is provided for team games.
Selection Process
- Candidates will be shortlisted based on their sports achievements.
- In case of more eligible applicants than available slots, preference will be given in the following order:
- Children of NHPC employees.
- Applicants from project-affected families of NHPC projects (proof required).
- Elite Scholar category candidates.
- Applicants with higher medal achievements (Gold > Silver > Bronze).
- Older candidates will be given preference over younger ones.

Important Instructions
- Candidates cannot receive any other sports scholarship or financial aid during this tenure.
- NHPC does not guarantee employment to scholarship holders.
- Selected scholars must wear NHPC-branded sports kits during competitions and training.
- Scholars must provide performance reports after every tournament.
- NHPC can terminate scholarships at any time without prior notice.
